How to get the perfect base

Creating a base is important part of applying makeup. Base makeup should not look cakey. Base makeup if applied correctly can give smooth and flawless appearance. Below are few tips which can help in achieving the perfect base.

1. Do not skip moisturizer
Moisturizing your face is most essential step before applying the makeup. It gives your face the perfect amount of hydration it requires. No matter of your skin type is dry, oily or combination but a moisturizer is a must.

2. Primer changes the game
No foundation alone can give you as flawless appearance as foundation over a primer. A good primer will fill out the pores and gives a smooth canvas to work with. This will also help other makeup products to last long.

3. Primer should compliment your foundation
Primer and foundation should share the same base. Be it oil or water the base should be same or else they will repel each other or just slide off your face making it difficult to blend.

4. Know your skin type
Knowing your skin type is very important. It helps in figuring out the best foundation. If you have a dry skin, buy a foundation with oil base and for oily skin a foundation with water base will work best.

5. Pick a foundation matching your skin tone
I have seen people picking foundation which is three to four shades lighter than their skin tone which is completely wrong. Foundation should match your skin tone.
